Scoring Student Portfolios (El Centro)

Follow the steps below to score student portfolios:
1. Select the community you wish to moderate (use the academic term filter to narrow your search)
2. Click the EPORTFOLIO TEMPLATES tab
3. Click the checkmark/score icon for the EL CENTRO COLLEGE TEMPLATE
4. Select the page you wish to score (you will score the same page for all students)
5. From the list of students who have used the template, click the score button for the appropriate student
(Alternatively, click the 'eye' icon to view the student's portfolio without scoring.)
6. Click the green 'Begin Scoring' button to start the evaluation
7. View the content in the student's portfolio*
(use the scroll bar to view all content on the page or the button to pop open the portfolio in a new window)
*If the student has NOT included content on the page, do NOT complete the scoring process! Instead:
- Use the 'Evaluation List' button in to top right corner to exit the evaluation.
- You will want to follow up with the student to make sure he/she saved and published their portfolio.
- Use the reset (double arrows) button to reset the evaluation so you can begin it again after the student has updated his/her work. The reset button MUST be used in order to recapture the changes the student has made.
8. Use the 'evidence' links to see what criteria are required for each performance level
9. Use the slider to assign the applicable number of points
10. Enter comments or add an attachment if necessary and click the 'summary' button
11. Review the score given and click the green 'Complete this Evaluation' button
(At this point you can also click on the name of the page to edit your scores and comments)
12. Click the 'Return to Evaluation Listing' or 'Evaluation List' buttons to return to the list of students who are ready to be scored.
